Chisinau, Moldova – The Erasmus+ Project, "Preparing the Past for the Future: A VET Capacity Building Initiative for Monument and Building Restoration in Moldova," officially began with a kick-off meeting on January 23-24. This event signified a partnership effort to enhance Moldova's VET offerings in Restoration.
The meeting, hosted at the Center of Excellence in Construction in Chisinau, saw project teams from BK Plus Europe (Coordinator – Cyprus), Center for Innovation and Policies in Moldova, Center of Excellence in Construction, Public Institution Vocational School no. 7 (Moldova), Zespol Szkol Budownictwa Nr 1 (Poland), and Riga Art and Media Technical School (Latvia) participate with 2 representatives each, alongside the National Erasmus+ Office and Economic operators. They outlined project goals, objectives, and milestones.
A guided tour of the Center showcased its educational model and allowed direct interaction with educators and learners. A crucial meeting at the Ministry of Education & Research with State Secretary Mrs. Galina Rusu highlighted the project's potential and garnered governmental support. Mrs. Rusu expressed strong support for the project.
The following day included a visit to Vocational School No. 7 to examine its infrastructure and educational methods, and a meeting at the Ministry of Culture with Minister Mr. Sergiu Prodan and State Secretary Mr. Ion Budeci, further securing governmental endorsement.
This two-day launch emphasized collaboration, mutual understanding, and commitment to enhancing Moldova's VET system. The project aims to create sustainable improvements in vocational education, preparing a skilled workforce for the future.
